It's the summer holidays and I find it hard to fill everyday. A fun trip that I took this week was to Brighton, UK. Thankfully the sun was shining and it wasn't too busy.
I got on the train along with some friends early in the morning and set off.
In Brighton we visited the lanes and predominately window shopped since there were a lot of expensive jewlery shopped. We also found chocywocydoodah which is a shop filled with chocolate. It looked and smelt amazing!
For lunch we took a picnic to the pebble beach and ended up staying there for a good four hours!! Needless to say we got a bit sunburnt. After eating we wondered along the pier and watched seagulls endlessly trying to find food.
I recommend a day trip to Brighton to anyone of any age. There is so much to do from shopping to visiting the sea life centre. Of course it is more fun with the sun but nevertheless enjoyable!

New York City, America
Following Washington DC, on my school trip, we took a 3 hour train journey to New York. New York was so different to DC. For a starter it was so much busier and the atmosphere was less relaxed. However it wasn't quite how I had imagined it, yes the roads were busy but it wasn't so busy that you had to walk through cars to cross the road. All the yellow taxis had dents in which made me feel a little worried about the ability of their driving but I survived a trip in one so I'm sure it was fine.
We went up the Empire State Building at night. The view was stunning and the picture below doesnt quite bring that out but you can see, ish.
Another interesting thing we saw was the 9/11 memorial. I was stunned in to silence as I learnt about what happened and how. The picture below is the space where a tall building use to stand. It is now a waterfall with names of people who died in this terrorist attack around it. Of course there are two as two building fell but they are so big that they cannot fit in to one picture.

We got on a boat to visit Ellis Island, an island where immigrants who were migrating would pass through to sign in. However on the way there we also passed Liberty island to see the Statue of Liberty.

We also visited times square, shopped, got a picture with a policeman and just had general fun seeing the monuments and memorials.
Washington DC, America
In October 2014 I went on a school trip for history, politics and english. We visited Washington DC. It was my first ever time of visiting another continent and to be doing it with friends made it an even better experience. Each day we had to find lunch and dinner, it was interesting although the amount of fast food I ate I'm surprised I haven't become the size of a house.
We went inside the Whitehouse (Obama was home eating breakfast at the time!), There were a lot of policemen about with dogs. The security to get in was being sniffed by a dog.
we went to Congress ( one friend ended up trying to dance on a slippery floor and ended up stacking it, in Congress...). Congress is basically a meeting place for discussions with delegates, usually political.
Also we visited the national museum of American History which was very interesting although we also visited many many other museums and gallery's which weren't of that much interest to me.
